Founded by Morgan Bonnet, Hawaii Stellar Engineering delivers high-performance mechanical and optomechanical solutions to drive innovation in aerospace, defense, astronomy, renewable energy, and beyond. With 20 years of experience in advanced R&D and deep roots in Hawaii’s space and scientific community, we bridge the gap between cutting-edge ideas and reliable hardware.
About the Founder
Morgan Bonnet is an expert in optomechanical engineering with a passion for solving complex technical challenges in space, science, and defense. He has designed advanced instruments for leading observatories including NASA’s Infrared Telescope Facility and the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope. As the founder of Hawaii Stellar Engineering, Morgan brings deep experience in precision design, thermal and structural analysis, project management, and manufacturing processes: from prototyping to vendor coordination and cost optimization. Through his consulting work, he has contributed to multiple SBIR-funded projects by providing engineering support. He also co-founded HI-Spectral, where he leads the development and commercialization of real-time hyperspectral imaging systems. Morgan holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Originally from France and a naturalized U.S. citizen since 2013, he is based in Honolulu and brings a global perspective and practical approach to delivering high-performance engineering solutions.
